Information & Resource Center for Older Adults
Our office acts as a clearing house to unite older adults with
services and agencies in our community. We pride ourselves
in finding help for a wide variety of problems.
Transportation
Volunteers provide transporation to and from medical
appointments and financial institutions. Volunteers will
even accompany clients in to an appointment and take
notes if needed.
Handyman
Volunteers complete minor home repairs for the cost of
materials only.
Friendly Visitors
Volunteers provide friendship for homebound older adults
by a weekly visit to their homes.
Grocery Van
The grocery vans provide transportation and assistance for
clients twice a month to an area grocery store.
Personal Shopper
Volunteers provide grocery shopping on a temporaty or
permanent basis for homebound older adults.
Call Check
Older adults call the office daily to report their well being.
Care Call
Telephone reassurance is provided on a regular basis
by a volunteer.
Respite
Volunteers relieve care givers. They supervise, assist and
provide companionship.
CLAIM
Volunteers trained by the Missouri Department of Insurance
answer questions and provide health insurance counseling and
assistance to Medicare beneficiaries and their families. We
also give help with Medicare Part D decisions and registration.
Grief and Loss
Grief support groups offered in cooperation with NorthCare
Hospice and Northwest Bible Church that provide support and
resources for the bereaved.
All Shepherd's Center of the Northland's Services
are offered at no cost to our clients, however donations are
always appreciated !
